Emtee Reveals The Manifestation Story Behind His Classic Hit “We Up.” There are songs you write, and there are songs that arrive like testimony. Speaking on Hip Hop Nights on 5FM, Emtee opened up about the moment “We Up” moved from a late-night idea to a life-changing anthem.
Asked, “How did ‘We Up’ come to you, bro? That song sounds Spiritual,” he did not dodge the heart of it. He went straight to the room where it began.
“I recorded that song at my lowest,” Emtee said, painting a picture of a cramped two-bedroom apartment where doubt and overdue rent notices shared the same air as his closest homies. “I was just manifesting stuff, just me and hommies in that 2-bedroom apartment, wondering when we’re gonna pay the rent, where the money is gonna come from. I then just went ahead and made a song, not knowing that blessings are really coming.”
