According to Cassper, pre-show agreements were not honoured. “I don’t understand, and I didn’t want to cause a scene, so I just walked off like they asked,” he wrote, adding that he is “offended” by how the situation unfolded and uncertain whether leaving the stage was the right call. He apologised to fans who came for the full experience, saying “Sorry for tonight,” while expressing frustration that the moment he had planned to deliver was cut short.
The incident capped a high-stakes festival weekend that typically draws the core of South African hip hop to a single stage. Cassper’s decision to exit quietly underscored a preference for professionalism and safety over confrontation, even as he questioned where the night’s agreements fell through.
He quickly turned the page to his next marquee moment, calling on supporters to meet him in two months at Fill Up Toyota Stadium on 6 December in Bloemfontein. “Please come out in numbers so I can give y’all a proper show,” he urged, positioning the stadium concert as the setting where he can control the production, pacing, and the all-important closing sequence he felt was denied at BTTC.
