Priddy Ugly Tips His Cap To Castle Lite For Immense Contribution To Hip Hop Culture. Priddy Ugly is giving Castle Lite its flowers, reminding fans that the beer brand has long been one of South Africa’s most reliable plug-ins to global hip hop.

Fresh off Castle Lite’s blockbuster move of bringing Travis Scott to the country, the rapper stitched together a living archive of moments that shaped local culture and then tossed out a playful dare for what should come next.
“Castle Lite played a pivotal role as far as culture is concerned,” he said, recalling some of the biggest rap nights SA has hosted on their tab. “I’ve been to the Chance The Rapper concert at Castle Lite. Migos concert, Castle Lite. I was at the Kanye West show in 2013–2014 at Castle Lite. So that’s how important they are to the culture. They bring us artists who are maybe too expensive for us to bring ourselves. They got the budget.”
With the Travis Scott afterglow still bright, Priddy Ugly pushed the conversation forward and aimed it straight at the summit. “Come on, Castle Lite, we need more. Come on, will you bring Drake here?” he said, riffing on rumours and fan chatter about Drizzy’s next era. “Drake’s next album is called Snowman or Iceman, so Castle Lite, think about it,” he teased, tying the speculation neatly to the brand’s long-running “extra cold” identity. Then he doubled down with a wink to their slogan: “Nothing hits like an extra cold.”
It was equal parts salute and strategy. Salute, because the receipts are there: Castle Lite has repeatedly turned stadium dreams into reality, dropping global headliners into local memory. Strategy, because Priddy understands the cultural math.
International megastars elevate the whole ecosystem. They energise fans, sharpen the competitive edge for SA artists, and push production standards skyward. A Drake booking would not just be a flex. It would be a statement about South Africa’s place on the world’s touring map and a vote of confidence in the appetite of its hip hop audience.
