Nasty C Explains Why Sarkodie Didn’t Make His Top Three Ghanaian Rappers List. In a recent interview with Joy Prime’s Roselyn Felli on the Changes show, Nasty C opened up about his ranking of Ghanaian rappers and addressed the ongoing chatter around his relationship with Sarkodie.
When asked why Sarkodie wasn’t on his top three list, Nasty C responded candidly, “He’s not on my top 3 at the moment, no.” He clarified further, adding, “He’s definitely in the top 5.”
The conversation then turned to the possibility of a collaboration between the two, following a long-standing beef that dates back to 2022. Nasty C explained, “I don’t know, we will have to have a conversation. A lot of things got lost in the translation. No one has just organised that sit-down yet; we’re just busy with our lives.”
He remained open to reconciliation if the opportunity arose, saying, “If organised, yes. I said that in the song that I put out. But I don’t know if he misunderstood it or if someone was in his ear telling him the wrong message. But his response to the song that I put out was spicy. So I don’t know where his head is at the moment, I’m not really worried about it. But if he asks us to sit down and have that conversation, yes, for sure, why not?”
The tension between the two rappers began when Nasty C revealed in his 2022 freestyle ‘No Big Deal’ that he had rejected Sarkodie’s collaboration requests after Sarkodie allegedly refused to shake his hand during their first meeting. Sarkodie fired back with the diss track ‘Landlord’, asserting his legendary status and taking shots at Nasty C.
Since then, Nasty C has admitted that his reaction at the time was immature, attributing it to anger. He has since expressed respect for Sarkodie and assured fans that he would deliver his best verse if given the chance to collaborate again.
