The Newcastle Red Bulls have named Boeta Chamberlain at fullback for Saturday’s EPCR Challenge Cup match against the Lions.
The 26-year-old knows the Joburg-based franchise well, having played against them for both the Sharks and Vodacom Bulls before heading to England.
Meanwhile, prolific winger Christian Wade will make his Red Bulls debut after a spell with the Wigan Warriors in rugby league.
Newcastle are aiming to build on their winning start to the competition after last weekend’s victory away to Lyon, with Wade one of seven personnel changes from the 24-13 triumph.

Cameron Hutchison and Elliott Obatoyinbo are the other additions to a backline which sees Ethan Grayson shifting one place to flyhalf, with Ollie Fletcher and Richard Palframan coming into the front row.
Tom Christie captains the team from the openside flank after scoring in a Man of the Match performance last time out, with lock Finn Baker and loose forward Ollie Leatherbarrow the other additions.
