Fif Laaa Voices Disappointment Over Scrapped Zoocci Coke Dope and Marcus Harvey Album. The ever-shifting landscape of South African hip-hop thrives on powerful collaborations and headline-grabbing fallouts.

Now, a recent remark from industry commentator Fif Laaa has revived debate around one of the culture’s most anticipated yet unrealised projects: a joint album between Zoocci Coke Dope and Marcus Harvey.
Speaking on the Up To Speed Podcast with DJ Speedsta and Okay Swisher, Fif Laaa did not conceal her disappointment. Reflecting on the scrapped collaboration, she admitted she was genuinely disheartened when she learned the album would no longer happen.
“I was very bummed to find out about Zoocci and Marcus Harvey’s album that was meant to happen,” she shared. “That release could have been so fire, especially if they both pushed it properly. I know it is probably too late for them to put their differences aside, but it cannot be that deep. A Marcus Harvey and Zoocci Coke Dope album is what the game needs.”
Her reaction mirrors the frustration felt by many fans and insiders. Zoocci Coke Dope has earned acclaim for his atmospheric, trap-infused production, creating immersive soundscapes that have shaped some of the country’s most compelling hip-hop records. Marcus Harvey, celebrated for his introspective pen and raw delivery, cemented his artistry with projects such as his 2020 release I Am Marcus Harvey.
Talk of their collaborative effort dates back to around 2023, when studio rumours and preview snippets hinted at a refined, world-class body of work. The pairing seemed natural: a visionary producer meeting a deeply reflective lyricist at a pivotal stage in both their careers.
Somewhere along the line, however, that chemistry gave way to conflict.
Marcus Harvey’s signing to a label that Zoocci had previously clashed with is believed to have widened the divide. Collaborative tracks were quietly removed, opportunities faded, and communication appeared to stall.
Fif Laaa’s call for reconciliation strikes at the heart of a genre that has witnessed both explosive feuds and powerful reunions. As South African hip-hop continues expanding its global reach, many believe a cohesive Zoocci and Marcus Harvey album could still deliver the kind of cultural moment the scene craves.
