South African hip-hop is buzzing after veteran rapper Stogie T (real name Tumi Molekane) dropped an AI-generated music video for his star-studded track “Four Horsemen,” featuring Nasty C, Maggz, and A-Reece.
What fans expected as a cinematic, live-action visual turned into a fully animated experience, sparking laughter, debate, and especially reactions from those close to A-Reece. The track itself, released late last year, was celebrated as a historic collaboration, bringing together old-school heavyweight Stogie T with the new generation of rap stars.
Fans called it a “lyrical war” and a bridge between eras, praising the bars that explored fame, the rap game, and industry power plays. But when it came to filming the music video, complications arose. Stogie T revealed that he tried to get the crew together for a proper shoot.
With all the efforts he made, A-Reece did not answer his phone. Faced with the absence, Stogie T pivoted to an AI-animated video, which dropped earlier this month. The visuals are dark and futuristic, matching the apocalyptic tone of the song. A particularly pointed moment shows a phone call to A-Reece going straight to voicemail, which some fans called clever shade and others considered disrespectful.
Tkay, who is a producer at Revenge Club Records and a close collaborator of A-Reece, reacted quickly. In a viral post on X, he wrote, “The Boy don’t be answering calls for real lol.” His reaction was both humorous and loyal, highlighting A-Reece’s well-known habit of avoiding calls, stirring a vast range of opinions from SA Hip hop fans.
