DJ Sliqe and Roiii Step Into Major Hosting Roles At YFM. Johannesburg youth station YFM has officially ushered in a new chapter for one of its most influential hip hop platforms. The station recently confirmed that acclaimed producer and DJ DJ Sliqe and rising artist and media personality Roiii will take the reins of the long-running program that has helped shape conversations around South African hip hop.
The announcement arrived through a dramatic and creative reveal led by media personality Scoop Makhatini. In a stylised video introduction, Scoop set the tone for what he described as a new chapter for the culture before welcoming the two hosts into the room.
“I’m grateful to be here with you guys for this Hip Hop Agenda. I just really feel that Hip Hop needs a new voice. We need some new energy, a new vibe, a new tribe. And my goodness, I do think we have it!” Scoop said while introducing Roiii and DJ Sliqe in a dramatised fashion.
The video, which was shared on Instagram, carried a short but symbolic caption that hinted at a fresh beginning: “Dawn ~ The beginning @yfm.”
