Nasty C Strengthens Independent Run With Release of ‘Free (Deluxe).’ South African rap heavyweight Nasty C has officially expanded his acclaimed album Free with the release of Free (Deluxe), a newly extended version that arrived in the early hours of Friday morning.

The project was released independently through Tall Racks Records and is available across major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music.
The original Free, released on 12 September 2025, marked a defining chapter in the Durban-born rapper’s career. It was his first full-length project following his departure from Def Jam Recordings, signalling the start of a new independent phase. The 16-track album, which runs just under 40 minutes, highlighted Nasty C’s trademark mix of sharp lyricism, melodic range, and introspective storytelling.
The project quickly proved its impact. Within days of release, it surpassed one million streams on Spotify and eventually climbed beyond 15 million streams by the end of 2025. Fans and critics praised the album’s raw energy and its theme of creative liberation. Speaking about the project previously, Nasty C described Free as an expression of artistic independence and a declaration of freedom to create without limitations.
Six months later, Free (Deluxe) builds on that momentum. The expanded edition adds six new tracks, bringing the album to 22 songs with a runtime of approximately 53 minutes. The additional material blends fresh collaborations, reworked moments, and brand new records that continue to highlight the rapper’s evolution as both a performer and producer.
Among the new additions is “No Typo,” a hard-hitting trap anthem produced by Tamas David that was teased earlier in February 2026. The song features Nasty C delivering confident bars over booming 808s and tight production.
Other highlights include “Mi Amor” and “The Heart,” two reflective records that lean into personal themes. “My Shxx” brings a gritty, self-assured energy, while “Shmokin 2.0” revisits and expands on one of the original album’s most atmospheric tracks.
The deluxe edition closes with “Head Up 2.0,” a powerful reimagining of the original motivational record that now features the legendary Soweto Gospel Choir. The choir’s layered harmonies elevate the track into a dramatic and uplifting finale.
The original songs remain intact, including fan favourites like “Leftie (Dlala Ngcobo)” featuring Blxckie, “Soft” with Usimamane, “Psychic,” and the original version of “Head Up.”
The release further cements Nasty C’s post-label era as one defined by independence and creative control. By delivering music on his own terms, the rapper continues to reinforce his reputation as one of Africa’s most influential hip-hop voices.
With Free (Deluxe) now in circulation, the next chapter of Nasty C’s independent run is officially underway. As fans across the country wake up to the new music, one message rings clear: the Ivyson is still moving at full speed.
