Boity Thulo Eyes 2026 Music Return As She Reflects On Her Creative Journey. After several years focused on building her business empire, South African media personality and rapper Boity Thulo is hinting that music may soon reclaim the spotlight in her career.

The multi-hyphenate recently revealed that fresh music could arrive in 2026, signaling a possible return to the studio while she continues expanding her influence across fashion and entrepreneurship. According to DRUM Magazine, Boity is also stepping into the sneaker world as the face of Bathu’s newest footwear release, The Volt.
The collaboration was unveiled during an exclusive launch event at Luxx Venue, where the surprise announcement energized the room and introduced a fresh chapter in the star’s growing portfolio of partnerships.
In her conversation with DRUM, Boity explained that this phase of her life is guided by a much more intentional mindset.
“I’m in a very intentional era. I’m a lot more selective about where I put my energy and what I attach my name to. In the earlier years, it was about exploring opportunities and finding my footing. Now it’s about alignment, purpose and building things that have longevity.”
More than a decade after first breaking into the entertainment industry, the rap star says the early stages of her career helped shape her discipline and resilience. However, she believes entrepreneurship has taught her perhaps the most important lesson of all.
“Entrepreneurship has shown me how patient I actually am. A lot of people see the launch of a product and think that’s where the work begins, but the real work is everything that happens behind the scenes. The planning, the problem solving, the adjustments. It’s also taught me how important it is to trust your instincts.”
From launching beauty and fragrance products to venturing into the beverage industry, Boity has steadily diversified her brand over the years. Along the way, she says she has learned that adaptability is essential for success.
“Business always requires a bit of flexibility. You learn very quickly that the market evolves and you have to evolve with it. Some pivots have been about refining the product itself, while others have been about understanding the consumer better and adjusting the strategy.”
She added, “For me, the key has always been listening and learning. The more you understand your audience and the space you’re operating in, the better your decisions become.”
Her partnership with Bathu came together organically through a shared appreciation between the brand and her journey.
“It really came from a place of mutual respect. I’ve admired what Bathu has built as a brand, and the team has been watching my journey as well. When the conversation started about the Volt range and what they wanted it to represent, it felt like a natural alignment.”
Boity was also closely involved in shaping the creative direction behind the collection.
“I had a really great level of creative input, which made the experience even more exciting. The team was very open to ideas and conversations around the aesthetic, the energy of the collection and how we wanted people to feel when they saw it.”
The final result, she says, reflects the bold spirit of South African creativity.
“It’s bold, vibrant and unapologetic. It speaks to the confidence of South African culture and creativity right now. It’s also a reminder that local brands can innovate and create products that stand confidently in the fashion and lifestyle space.”
Despite her expanding footprint in business and fashion, Boity says music remains her most personal form of expression. While hinting at upcoming releases expected in 2026, she told DRUM, “Music will always have a special place in my heart. It’s one of the most personal ways I get to express myself creatively. Even when I step back from it for a while, the passion for it never really leaves.”
Already recognized with accolades such as the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, Boity is now approaching the next phase of her career with a clear philosophy about longevity.
“You have to allow yourself to evolve, both as a person and as a brand. At the same time, it’s important to stay grounded in who you are and what you stand for. When you strike that balance, longevity becomes a lot more possible,” she concludes.
