Chad Da Don Announces Return To Music With Forthcoming Single. South African hip-hop artist Chad Da Don, born Donovan Chad Mansoor, has stepped back into the spotlight after some time away, and the local rap scene is already buzzing.
Taking to Instagram, the Pretoria-born and Midrand-raised lyricist let fans know the break is officially over. In a short but impactful message, he shared that he had been off the radar for a while but is now fully back in motion.
Alongside the update, he revealed that a brand-new single was recorded, giving credit to Sky’s A Blu Studios for hosting the session. “Been away for a while, but we’re back now… Recorded my new single this past weekend. Big shout-out to @skysablustudios for hosting us,” wrote Chad Da Don.

In February 2026, Chad publicly marked four years of sobriety, sharing a powerful transformation post on Instagram where he reflected on nearly losing his life to cocaine addiction, mental health struggles, overdoses, and dark times. He credited his recovery to perseverance, faith, and support, encouraging others not to give up. His mother, Norma Mansoor (@NormaMansoor on X), has also spoken proudly about his progress, highlighting the challenges of social pressure and substance abuse.
