iFani Signs New Management As He Preps Musical Comeback. South African hip-hop artist iFani has announced a major career milestone, signing a management deal that he says ends his solo journey and launches a new collective force in the industry.

In a heartfelt Instagram post on Saturday, the rapper, whose real name is Mzayifani Boltina, shared his excitement about joining forces with Asanda Empires. “My lonely days are gone,” he wrote. “I am no longer moving alone. We are an empire now.”
The deal promises a busy season ahead for the veteran artist. Bookings for local and international shows are in the works, along with new music videos, radio and television appearances, commercials, adverts, and media features. Fans can expect a strong push focused on vernacular music, culture, and tradition, with a special emphasis on elevating Xhosa voices both in South Africa and globally.
iFani reflected on the long wait from supporters who have been calling his name. “For a long time, people have been missing me, and I have been missing the people, too,” he said, recalling how crowds used to react with his signature chant: “HAY’MAAANI!!”
He vowed to return to the stage with fresh energy, performing and earning through his craft. “A man eats from the sweat of his brow, right?” he added.
Under the banner of Asanda Empires, iFani joins a growing collective described as an army dedicated to polishing and promoting the Xhosa language, heritage, and artistry. “We want to develop it, polish it, and show Mzansi and the whole world that there are Xhosa people. And asanda,” he stated.
For the artist himself, the partnership marks a personal dream realised. It offers a platform to reintroduce his music to longtime fans and welcome new ones, while opening doors to cross borders and shine once more on bigger stages. “Ndiyavuya nyhani,” he expressed with genuine joy.
iFani extended a warm invitation to fans: “Please welcome me back into your hearts.” He asked for well-wishes on this fresh journey and offered blessings for its success.
The announcement included several light-hearted postscripts that captured his personality. In one, he addressed fashion critics with humour: “If you do not like my clothes, leave them. Love me instead.” He added that he plans to upgrade his wardrobe once he links up with Laduma of Maxhosa.
He also issued a public apology to fellow artist Flash, whom he had previously referred to negatively, acknowledging that hardship can sometimes make one bitter. “Sometimes poverty makes one angry. Sorry, mahn Flash, I am grinding now. Your music has flavour and contributes to Xhosa culture. Hopefully, we will collaborate in the future.”
On financial matters, iFani gently asked fans for patience. “Do not rush to ask me for money. I have just started working. Wait for me to get paid. You will see me wearing Maxhosa when I have paid for it.”
Finally, he reassured followers that despite his current life in Sandton, his heart remains rooted in the township. “Do not be shocked when you see me in the kasi. Yes, I live in Sandton now, but my heart still loves the township.”
The move comes after a period in which iFani has spoken openly about industry challenges, including financial hurdles in completing his third studio album “3rd Quadrant” and earlier reflections on stepping away from the spotlight. His recent activity, including singles like “Uzukhanye,” has signalled a determined comeback, with fans celebrating the resurgence of his classic track “Shake.”
This partnership with Asanda Empires appears positioned to amplify iFani’s vernacular-rooted sound and cultural pride at a time when Xhosa influences continue to ripple through South African music.
