Brisbane’s St Josephs Nudgee College shocked Grey College, while there were notable wins for Westville and Bishops in Thursday’s Easter rugby festivals action.
St John’s Easter Rugby Festival
St Joseph’s Nudgee came from behind to stun Grey College 29-26. Grey opened the scoring through Henru Jacobs, but the visitors responded strongly. A last-minute drop goal from Pierre Poloeuligaga sealed the win and handed Grey a second consecutive defeat.
Morné Noble’s hat-trick powered Monument to a 56-35 win over New Zealand’s Westlake Boys’ High after a dominant second-half surge.
Tries from Christian Toweel, Caleb Clark, Ben Durandt and Jack Hibling saw Bishops beat hosts St John’s 24-7.
In other results, Hilton claimed a 65-14 win over Nelspruit, Kingswood beat St David’s Marist 40-5, and Graeme College thrashed St Benedict’s College 57-5.

Kearsney Easter Rugby Festival
Jadrian Afrikaner and Avumile Lisa both scored hat-tricks in Westville’s 83-0 win over Framesby. The KZN school ran in 13 tries in total, with Jade-Will Koopman slotting nine conversions.
Hosts Kearsney got off the mark with a 43-14 victory against Rustenburg, with Lwandle Mkhize scoring two tries.
EG Jansen scored five tries in a 27-20 win over Milnerton, with Liam Hector scoring a late try.
In other results, DHS defeated Zwartkop 31-14, Transvalia saw off Peterhouse 26-5, and Helpmekaar beat Glenwood 24-5.
