Bath coach Johann van Graan praised Thomas du Toit after the Bok prop’s match-turning performance against Saracens at The Rec on Saturday.
The English Premiership champions won the Investec Champions Cup last-16 clash 31-22 to set up a quarter-final against the Northampton Saints.
Du Toit, who will return to Durban at the end of the season, came on at half-time with Bath’s scrum under pressure.
The tighthead immediately turned the tide, helping his side dominate the set-piece and swing momentum in their favour, and was named Man of the Match.

“Thomas was fantastic in that second half,” said Van Graan.
“If you look at his two years and nine months that he’s been at Bath, in my view, he’s become one of the best players in the whole world of rugby, and he showed it again against Saracens.
“He was absolutely phenomenal in the scrum, in defence and attack. That’s why you build a squad. You call on 20-50 guys on a weekend and all credit to the players.”
