Babylowsk1 Speaks On How He Got A-Reece On “Bojack.” In the fast-paced world of South African hip-hop, where beats fly across WhatsApp, and verses can flip a song’s fate overnight, emerging artist Babylowsk1 is pulling back the curtain on one of his most buzzed-about collaborations.

The track “Bojack,” featuring none other than A-Reece, dropped on March 27, 2026, and has been making waves across streaming platforms. Now, Babylowsk1 is sharing the raw, unfiltered story of how a song he almost shelved became a standout joint.
It all started in a whirlwind studio session, or rather, two intense days, with producer Michael Tuohy, also referred to as Mike. The duo was on a creative tear, knocking out five or six tracks in quick succession. Beats and ideas bounced back and forth rapidly: Babylowsk1 sending over concepts, Tuohy responding with instrumentals cooked up in mere minutes.
“He was even saying while he was making these beats, like, ‘you’re really inspiring me,’” Babylowsk1 recalled. “‘Cause the beats you’re sending me, he was making them like 10 minutes, 5 minutes. Like I’m not overthinking beats no more.”
The energy was electric, a mutual spark that pushed both artists into a no-holds-barred creative zone. But not every song from that burst felt like a winner right away, at least not to its creator.
When Babylowsk1 laid down his verse for what would become “Bojack,” he was not sold on it. “Me originally, I didn’t like my verse,” he admitted candidly. “I told Mike, like, but I like the song. I like all these songs. I like almost every song I made, but I’m honest about them.” Out of the batch of five or six, he ranked “Bojack” near the bottom, his least favourite or second-least, by his own honest assessment.
Instead of scrapping it, he made a pivotal decision: send it through to A-Reece anyway. “And then he sends it through to Reece, and Reece loved the song,” Babylowsk1 continued. “So he’s like, let me hop on this. That’s what he decided upon.”
What began as a self-doubted verse on a mid-tier track from a productive binge transformed into a full collaboration. A-Reece jumped on, bringing his signature introspective flow and elevating the atmospheric production, handled primarily by Tuohy, with additional credits to RudeboyRack$ and others. The result? A track that’s sparked reactions, questions, and plenty of streams, blending Babylowsk1’s raw energy with Reece’s seasoned touch.
