Eighteen-year-old centre Markus Muller will be included in the Stormers match 23 for Saturday’s clash against the Glasgow Warriors in Cape Town.
SARugbymag.co.za has reliably learned that the Paarl Gimnasium product is set to follow in the footsteps of Damian Willemse, who made his Stormers debut at the age of 18 in 2017.
Muller, who can play 12 or 13, represented the Junior Springboks against Georgia U20 in February, attended the Springboks’ first alignment camp of the year in Cape Town, and made his Stormers XXIII debut against the Sharks U23s in Durban last month.
He has been named in the Junior Boks squad for Sanzaar’s U20 Rugby Championship, which kicks off in Gqeberha on Monday.
The timing of his introduction is notable, with the Stormers facing one of their toughest assignments of the season against a Glasgow side sitting at the top of the Vodacom URC standings.
