Will Chelsea sack Liam Rosenior according to the latest update?

Here is the latest update on the possibility of Chelsea sacking Liam Rosenior before the 2025/2026 club football season ends.

Liam Rosenior’s future at Chelsea is hanging by a thread after the club suffered a humiliating 3-0 hammering against Brighton on Tuesday night. Sources close to the club have told BBC Sport that unlike last week, when Rosenior received vocal support from Chelsea’s leadership, no such backing has been offered this time around.

Making matters worse, several players within the squad are reportedly unconvinced by the 41-year-old manager, who only arrived at Stamford Bridge from French partner club Strasbourg a little over three months ago.

Meetings are currently ongoing at Chelsea’s training ground as the club’s leadership work toward a final decision on whether to part ways with Rosenior. While players were given the day off, those at the top of the club are understood to be actively discussing his position and weighing up their options following the damaging result.

The defeat to Brighton was Chelsea’s fifth consecutive league game without scoring their worst such run in 114 years and Rosenior didn’t hold back in his post-match assessment, describing his team’s display as both “indefensible” and “unacceptable.” Chelsea supporters at the Amex Stadium shared that frustration, directing their anger toward the head coach during the match.

Chelsea currently sit seventh in the Premier League, five points off a Champions League qualification spot with just four games to play. They also face a high-stakes FA Cup semi-final against Leeds at Wembley this Sunday.
