Veteran flank Deon Fourie is reportedly set to play on beyond his 40th birthday after extending his contract with the Stormers.
According to Netwerk24, Fourie signed a new deal shortly before suffering a serious knee injury during the Stormers’ 38-38 draw against Ulster in Belfast.
Fourie was caught in a croc roll by Ireland lock Iain Henderson, who received a 20-minute red card and three-match suspension.
DOBBO: Fourie faces lengthy lay-off
There had been fears the injury could end Fourie’s career, but he could now play for the Stormers on his 40th birthday – in their opening match of the 2026-27 URC season against Connacht in Galway on 25 September.
Fourie has earned 134 caps for the Stormers, while making 100 appearances for Western Province.
