Cotton Fest Channels The Spirit Of Youth Culture In New Mixtape Music Video. South African youth culture platform Cotton Fest has officially released the highly anticipated Cotton Fest MixTape Music Video, delivering a vibrant visual experience that blends music, fashion, movement and creative expression into one immersive production.

Announced through the festival’s social media platforms, the project was described as “a curated expression of sound translated into image, movement, and culture,” highlighting Cotton Fest’s continued commitment to pushing the boundaries of South African creative collaboration.
The music video, now available on the UCF YouTube channel, brings together a wide range of artistic disciplines — from cinematography and styling to performance art and visual storytelling — in a production that reflects the evolving energy of South Africa’s youth-driven creative scene.
The ambitious visual was executive produced by The Secret Life Of B and Lindsay SA, while direction duties were handled by acclaimed creative Chia Chels. Production was led by Bynine Creative, with Black Maverick Media overseeing video treatment and technical execution.
The project also featured contributions from several respected creatives across the industry, including art director Anastatia N, stylist Boogy Maboi, photographer King Henry IIV, and cinematographer Beat Killa Black Samurai, among others. The extensive creative team reflects Cotton Fest’s collaborative ethos, which has become one of the festival’s defining trademarks over the years.
In addition to the production crew, the visual also received support from a lineup of influential artists and cultural figures, including MashBeatz, Orchid Musiq and MaXhosa Africa founder Laduma Ngxokolo, further reinforcing the project’s crossover between music, fashion and contemporary South African culture.
The release arrives as Cotton Fest continues to expand beyond being just a music festival into a full-scale cultural movement. Founded in honour of late hip hop pioneer Riky Rick, the platform has grown into one of South Africa’s most influential spaces for emerging talent, streetwear, art and youth expression.
By releasing the MixTape Music Video, Cotton Fest once again demonstrates its ability to merge multiple creative worlds into a single cultural moment — one that not only showcases music, but also captures the visual identity and energy of a generation.
