You voted Riley Norton as your Bok MVP, powered by Auto & General, after the Springboks’ 80-31 victory against the Barbarians at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
The 20-year-old lock produced an outstanding 80-minute performance in his first senior appearance in the green and gold to play his way into the 46-man Bok squad for the Nations Championship Tests against England, Scotland and Wales in July.
Norton made eight carries – scoring a 24th-minute try – completed 11 tackles and won four lineouts.
The Junior Boks captain was one of several rookies to impress Bok coach Rassie Erasmus.
“A guy like Riley – 20 years old, playing a full match against grown men. That’s not easy,” said Erasmus.

In a post-match SARugbymag.co.za poll, 25% of readers voted for Norton as their Bok MVP, with winger Edwill van der Merwe – who scored a hat-trick – getting 17% and No 8 Jasper Wiese 16%.
