Nasty C Weighs In On Stogie T’s Jab at A-Reece: “That’s the Beef I Want to See” The South African hip-hop landscape is once again buzzing after Nasty C shared his thoughts on the growing tension between Stogie T and A-Reece.

Speaking during a recent livestream while reacting to Stogie T’s Make Them Pay freestyle, the Durban rapper admitted that he had heard rumours about Stogie taking shots at A-Reece but had not yet listened to the track himself.
“I heard Stogie diss A-Reece, though. I still haven’t listened to that sh*t, though,” Nasty C said, initially suggesting that the verse might not have been a serious attack.
Rather than viewing it as outright hostility, he speculated that Stogie T could still be frustrated by the events surrounding the Four Horsemen collaboration and its music video. The project, which brought together Stogie T, Nasty C, A-Reece and Maggz, was celebrated as a landmark moment for South African hip-hop.
“It’s fair for him to be upset about that kind of stuff,” Nasty C remarked, acknowledging the veteran rapper’s perspective while remaining neutral.
The conversation took an unexpected turn when viewers quoted one of the freestyle’s standout lines in the livestream chat: “David sent the goats into hiding.”
The lyric, referencing Nasty C’s real name David, immediately changed Nasty C’s opinion.
“Damn! Nah, that is wild. That is a diss. Yeah, that is a diss,” he reacted, laughing. He described the line as “a little hot” but still considered it more of a “light jab” than a devastating blow.
Although clearly entertained, Nasty C was careful not to add unnecessary fuel to the situation.
“I don’t want a clip of me reacting circulating the net, man!” he joked before revealing that he is eager to see how A-Reece responds.
“I know Reese is gonna come back with some shit. That’s a beef I would like to see unfold right there. The OG versus the young OG.”
The discussion also led Nasty C to reflect on where his generation fits within the culture. Laughing, he questioned whether artists like himself, Emtee and A-Reece should now be considered “young OGs” or if fans simply see them as “unks.”
The livestream clip has quickly gained traction among South African rap fans, reigniting conversations about the Four Horsemen collaboration. While the project was praised for bringing together artists from different eras, Nasty C’s comments suggest there may still be unresolved tensions beneath the surface.
Known for his sharp lyricism and respected status in the game, Stogie T appears to have reminded listeners that he is still a formidable force, while fans are now eagerly waiting to see whether A-Reece will answer the challenge.
Rather than picking sides, Nasty C embraced the competitive spirit that has always defined hip-hop. He acknowledged the cleverness of the bar, recognised it as a genuine shot, and admitted that a lyrical showdown between the veteran and the younger star would be something worth watching.
