The Lions have reportedly made two big signings to further bolster their ranks next season.
According to Rapport, a cash boost from an Ellis Park naming rights deal has allowed Van Rooyen to sign Springbok loose forward Sikhumbuzo Notshe and towering lock JP du Preez.
It adds to a recruitment haul that already includes Bok prop Boan Venter, lock Hyron Andrews, winger Daniel Kasende and utility back Boeta Chamberlain.

Notshe (33) has been playing in France with Montauban since 2024, helping the club win promotion via the Pro D2 title.
The six-cap loose forward previously spent four seasons at the Sharks, having first represented the Stormers from 2013 to 2019.
Du Preez’s capture will offset Darrien Landsberg’s expected move to the Exeter Chiefs in England. The 2.10m Du Preez started out at the Lions in 2015 before stints with the Cheetahs, Sale Sharks and, most recently, Glasgow Warriors.
