Clayton Blommetjies will celebrate his 150th appearance for the Cheetahs when the hosts tackle the Sharks XV in Friday’s Currie Cup clash at Free State Stadium.
The veteran fullback reaches the milestone in a side showing several changes from the team that edged the Lions 29-27 at Ellis Park last week.
Faf de Klerk retains the No 9 jersey after an impressive Cheetahs debut and again combines with Jaco van der Walt at halfback, while captain Neels Volschenk leads a reshuffled pack featuring Victor Sekekete and Curtly Thomas in the second row.

There are changes on both wings, with Michael Annies shifting to No 14, in place of Cohen Jasper, and Prince Nkabinde promoted to the run-on lineup after last week’s outing.
Former Vodacom Bulls and Edinburgh utility back Henry Immelman is in line for his first outing back for the Free Staters from the bench, where Tebogo Nkosi, Ben Pitout, Sisonke Vumazonke and Marco Janse van Vuren are also included.
Blommetjies made his Cheetahs debut in 2014 and reaches his landmark after representing the Free State outfit across Super Rugby, the Currie Cup, Pro14, SA Cup and other competitions.
