Springbok scrumhalf Herschel Jantjies could be on the move just one season after joining Bayonne.
Jantjies signed a two-year deal with the Top 14 club last year after leaving the Stormers, but according to RugbyPass his future has reportedly become uncertain.
The 30-year-old endured an injury-disrupted first campaign for Bayonne after hurting his thumb early in the season, but still made 20 appearances and scored two tries.
According to reports in France, Bayonne director of rugby Laurent Travers is now willing to let Jantjies leave.

The news comes shortly after the scrumhalf forced his way back into the Springbok set-up. Recalled by Rassie Erasmus after a three-year absence, Jantjies marked his return with a try off the bench in the 43-0 victory over Wales in the Nations Championship.
He has since retained his place in the Bok squad for next month’s one-off Test against Argentina and is expected to remain involved for the remainder of the international season.
Bayonne have already lost experienced scrumhalves Maxime Machenaud and Baptiste Germain ahead of the new campaign, with Travers initially hoping Jantjies would step into the first-choice role.
Bayonne are now reportedly concerned that his Springbok commitments could leave them short at scrumhalf during the season, with Léo Coly and Baptiste Tilloles the remaining senior options.

According to RugbyPass, Erasmus would like to see Jantjies playing his rugby in South Africa with one of the URC clubs. However, there are currently no obvious openings, making a return home unlikely for now.
