Boland Landbou left it late against Oakdale, Grey High put a mammoth total past Muir while there were also notable results for Affies and Maritzburg College.
Boland Landbou produced a remarkable comeback to beat Oakdale 40-36 in the Farmers Derby on Saturday. Flyhalf Caleb Seroot was the hero, scoring two tries in the closing stages to snatch the win and earn the Man of the Match award.
Flanker Juan Visagie also ended his high-school career with a brace of tries in a tireless display, while left wing Steyn Lamprecht and tighthead prop Tiaan Malan also crossed for the hosts.
Elsewhere in the Western Cape, Tygerberg beat Melkbosstrand 22-15, Hermanus edged Strand 33-31 and Swartland beat Hopefield 24-14.
In the Eastern Cape, Graeme College beat Queen’s 31-28, Nico Malan downed Die Brandwag 26-12, Grey High humiliated Muir 113-5, Ooskus Gym and Stirling drew 22-22 and Marlow Landbou hammered Bergsig 57-13.
In KwaZulu-Natal, Maritzburg College crushed Glenwood 64-7 while DHS beat KES 22-12.
In the central region, Upington beat Duineveld 36-19, Sentraal edged Framesby 29-28, Grey College cruised past Outeniqua 45-17 and Welkom Gimnasium beat Bethlehem Voortrekker 64-28.
In the Gauteng, Affies beat Pretoria Boys’ High 45-18.
