Sharks strike big deal with Bok champ

Head coach JP Pietersen and the Sharks are delighted to announce the signature of an influential and versatile Springbok back on a long-term contract.

André Esterhuizen has committed his future to the Sharks through the 2030 season.

The 32-year-old centre has made 125 senior appearances for the Durban-based club across all competitions.

Esterhuizen, who took over as Sharks captain last season, is known for his power and pace in midfield.

The 2023 World Cup winner has become an established midfield option for the Boks since making his international debut in 2018.

Nicknamed ‘The Giant’, Esterhuizen’s ability to switch between centre and loose forward has also given the four-time world champions greater selection flexibility.
