All Blacks legend and GOAT Dan Carter backs Springbok playmaker Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu to reach his full potential as a world-class flyhalf.
Feinberg-Mngomezulu has already shown enough to suggest he has the talent, but Carter believes the next step is developing the consistency required to make the No 10 jersey his own.
The 24-year-old will play off the bench against New Zealand in Cape Town on Saturday, deputising for veteran Handré Pollard, after starting last week’s losing first Test of the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series.

Speaking on the For The Love Of Rugby: South Africa podcast, Carter praised the way the Boks have nurtured Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s development, with Pollard and Manie Libbok providing experience and support.
“He plays with such confidence. I think they’ve managed him really well up until last year, where they haven’t just thrown him into the spotlight,” said Carter, a two-time world champion and Test rugby’s highest point-scorer (1,598).
The Kiwi icon highlighted Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s notable performances in the green and gold, including against the All Blacks in Wellington and during the November tour last year.

“Sacha’s reached out, just asking a few questions every now and then as well. So he has the ability to learn. He wants to grow,” Carter added.
“He knows that he doesn’t know everything yet, so he’s got a growth mindset and wants to get better. But you don’t become a world-class first-five [flyhalf] overnight by having two or three good seasons.
“You need longevity in the game, and that’s the biggest challenge for him now. It is to build consistency to make that jersey his.”
SACHA: I’m not coming in with a big head
Carter also pointed to the influence of Kiwi attack guru and Bok assistant coach Tony Brown, who the three-time World Rugby Player of the Year reckons can help Feinberg-Mngomezulu continue his development at Test level.
“He’s a real talent, obviously working pretty closely with Tony Brown, who will take him under his wing, and Tony has some incredible All Black experience as well, so he knows what it takes to play at international level.”
