Former Junior Boks flyhalf Ian van der Merwe will make his debut for the Vodacom Bulls XV against the Sharks XV at Kings Park on Friday night.
The Bulls head into the final round of the Currie Cup league stage rooted to the bottom of the log, having lost all six of their matches.
Van der Merwe, who made two appearances for the SA U20s at last year’s Junior World Championship, will be joined by rookie winger Ruan Enslin.
Their inclusion takes the number of Bulls debutants during this year’s Currie Cup campaign to 29.
Coach Phiwe Nomlomo has named 13 players eligible for U21 rugby in his match 23, which has an average age of just 21.5.

“We aren’t in the business of making excuses, and we know what the results look like. It is what it is,” Nomlomo said.
“The reality is we’ve blooded a massive amount of young talent under tough conditions, but when we step out onto the field in Durban, our mindset doesn’t change.
“We are giving it our absolute best shot, we are going there to win, and we expect every guy wearing the jersey to fight for the result from the first minute to the last.”
