Marcus Harvey Unveils “Son of Elvis” Album Tracklist. South African singer, songwriter and storyteller Marcus Harvey has officially unveiled the full tracklist for his forthcoming album Son of Elvis, giving fans a closer look at a project that appears set to explore identity, family, artistry and legacy.

Released through Johannesburg-based Stay Low Records, the 13-track album follows Marcus Harvey’s critically praised 2024 project Now You Know Me. Written and performed by Lawrence Harvey Mashiloane, Son of Elvis is executive produced by Vaughn Thiel, with Jordan Klem handling the mixing and mastering.
The album begins with the intimate “Rebecca’s Prayer [Intro]”, produced by Sundaeb Beats, immediately placing a personal touch at the centre of the listening experience. From there, Harvey moves through a textured combination of soul, R&B and contemporary South African sounds.
The project also brings together a notable cast of collaborators. American rapper Mick Jenkins appears on the atmospheric “Come to Me”, while Blk Odyssey joins Harvey on “Turtle Doves”. Kush features on the Xitsonga-inspired “Ndži Lava Ku China”, adding another dimension to the album’s multilingual character.
The full Son of Elvis tracklist is:
- “Rebecca’s Prayer [Intro]” | Sundaeb beats
- “Mmangwane” | Sundaeb beats, Tyler
- “Mapula” | Jordan Klem
- “Charlotte” | Sundaeb beats
- “Turtle Doves” feat. Blk Odyssey | Fiji Mageba
- “Waters” | Fiji Mageba
- “Carried You” | Marcus Harvey, Tyson Sybatelli
- “Come to Me” feat. Mick Jenkins | Marcus Harvey, Fiji Mageba, Mick Jenkins, Tyson Sybatelli
- “Need You” | Fiji Mageba, Tyson Sybatelli
- “Cotton Candy” | Fiji Mageba
- “Who Is Elvis?” | Tyler
- “Ndži Lava Ku China” feat. Kush | Marcus Harvey, Fiji Mageba, Kush
- “Medi Ba Baya” | Marcus Harvey, Fiji Mageba
Fiji Mageba, Sundaeb beats, Tyson Sybatelli, Tyler and Jordan Klem provide much of the album’s production foundation, helping shape a sonic world that connects Harvey’s roots in Alexandra Township with a broader contemporary sound.
Much of the intrigue surrounding the album lies in its title and the track “Who Is Elvis?”. Harvey has consistently used his music to explore personal experiences and questions of identity, and Son of Elvis appears to continue that approach while placing greater emphasis on lineage, self-definition and artistic inheritance.
That personal thread is evident from the opening track, “Rebecca’s Prayer [Intro]”, which points to the influence of Harvey’s mother, Rebecca. Across the album, his use of English alongside Sepedi and other South African languages further strengthens the sense of cultural identity running through the project.
Interest in Son of Elvis has steadily grown since Harvey first announced the album earlier this year. While its release window has shifted between July and late August, anticipation has continued to build through intimate listening sessions and a special live performance at Untitled Basement, both of which sold out.
The newly revealed tracklist suggests that Harvey is approaching Son of Elvis as a complete body of work rather than simply a collection of individual releases. With its personal themes, carefully assembled collaborations and diverse production credits, the album could mark another significant chapter in Harvey’s evolution as a storyteller and musician.
