Graham Henry expects the Springboks to turn up the pressure when they face the All Blacks in Saturday’s second Test in Cape Town.
New Zealand stunned the Boks 33-16 at Ellis Park last weekend, but Henry believes the world champions will respond with a more familiar approach.
“I would imagine they’ll go back to the old Springbok style of massive scrum, massive driving lineout, ball in the air, putting huge pressure on, trying to get field advantage,” Henry said on the Shawn O’Neill podcast.
“I don’t think there’s going to be too many surprises. They’ll want to convert once they’re down there.
“They didn’t convert entries into the 22 last Test match, and they usually do. So, they’ll be disappointed with that.”

While the All Blacks head into the second Test with confidence, Henry expects a sterner examination against a more experienced Springbok side.
“They’ve got an older side and a team that’s won two World Cups, basically. A lot of caps, a lot of experience,” he said.
“They’ll put a lot of pressure on us at scrum and at the driving lineout and the ball in the air.”

Henry also suggested the All Blacks may need to adopt a more territorial approach.
“Maybe not play as much football as we tried to play in Ellis Park. Play a bit more territory, perhaps, so take the pressure off us.”
