New Zealand Women outside back Amy du Plessis received a special welcome after landing in South Africa on Sunday.
The 27-year-old, who was born in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, was overcome by emotion after seeing her grandfather for the first time since 2022.
According to the All Blacks website, Amy’s parents managed a BMW store in KZN, but moved to New Zealand when she was seven, “in pursuit of a safer lifestyle residing on a dairy farm owned by Amy’s grandfather”.
