Stormers boss John Dobson has recalled a seasoned campaigner and Vodacom URC winner for Friday’s pre-season clash against the Bulls in Paarl.
Veteran prop Ali Vermaak, who featured for the Boland Cavaliers in the Currie Cup, has been included on the bench to face Johan Ackermann’s charges at Faure Street Stadium.

Lock Riley Norton starts, back from the hamstring injury that delayed his full Springbok debut in July, while debutants André Warner and Lleyton Davids are also given run-outs in the backline.
The exciting Dylan Miller and Markus Muller, along with a fit-again Jurie Matthee, have been entrusted with the playmaking and attacking duties at fullback, inside centre and flyhalf respectively.
Vernon Matongo and JJ Kotze anchor a familiar front row alongside Sazi Sandi, with Hacjivah Dayimani leading the loose trio from No 8.

The match-day 31 blends 14 players who featured for the Stormers XXIII this season with six URC winners, and includes Springboks Neethling Fouché and André-Hugo Venter among the reserves.
Dobson’s Project 2029 plans look to be taking shape with youngsters Olly Reid and Yaqeen Ahmed – who made his Stormers debut in a historic Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry outing last month – in line to make an impact off the wood.
