DJ Clen Hits Back At Claims K-Rev Had No Rollout For New Project “Are We There Yet?” DJ Clen has pushed back against claims that K-Rev’s latest project arrived without a proper rollout, pointing to the rapper’s consistent freestyle releases and behind-the-scenes content as evidence of the work that went into building anticipation.

The comments came shortly after Revenge Club Records released K-Rev’s nine-track project Are We There Yet?, executive produced by DJ Clen. Responding to the online discussion, Clen took to X to highlight the work K-Rev had been putting in long before the project reached streaming platforms.

“Saying Rev never had a rollout is crazy,” Clen wrote. “This kid been dropping freestyle week in and week out on his IG. The ones who followed him know. He even dropped studio shoot for no bangers. Let the kid enjoy his come up. Hip Hop la lapisha aowa banna.”

Clen has remained closely involved in K-Rev’s rise and has previously described Are We There Yet? as one of his “proudest productions.” The veteran producer has also spoken highly of the rapper beyond his musical abilities, describing him as “a respectful kid” who was raised well.

K-Rev’s approach to building momentum has largely played out through his social media activity. His regular Instagram freestyles gave followers an opportunity to track his development while studio footage and other visual content offered glimpses into the work behind his music.

That steady output has now led to Are We There Yet?, marking another significant step in the rapper’s relationship with Clen and the Revenge Club Records camp.

The project follows the pair’s 2025 collaborative mixtape The Only Way Up, which featured appearances from artists including Blxckie, 25K and Blaklez. Their continued collaboration has helped put K-Rev’s name in front of a wider hip-hop audience.

K-Rev, whose real name is Samukelo Qhena, was born in Daveyton and is based in Soweto. His rise has also included appearances across Clen’s previous releases, with the rapper becoming the most featured artist on Too Viral.

For Clen, the debate over the project’s rollout appears to come down to what qualifies as promotion in today’s hip-hop landscape. While traditional campaigns often rely on structured announcements, visuals and media runs, K-Rev’s build-up has been rooted heavily in consistent music and direct engagement with his audience.
