Stogie T Brings The Biblical Story of Lazarus Into His Latest Freestyle “Re Dumetsi” Featuring Apu. Stogie T has turned to one of the Bible’s most recognised miracles for his latest freestyle, drawing on the story of Lazarus to explore death, redemption and resurrection through a lyrical and theological lens.
The rapper, whose real name is Tumi Molekane, shared the new freestyle titled Re Dumetsi featuring Apu. alongside the words from John 11:43, “Lazarus, come out!” The accompanying writing connects Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead with the wider Christian message of redemption through the cross.
Stogie T reflects on Lazarus being called out of the tomb before drawing the story towards Christ’s crucifixion and humanity’s need for spiritual renewal. He presents Lazarus as a picture of people buried beneath what he describes as “our own decay and counterfeit living,” while positioning Christ’s call as an invitation into resurrection life.
