Nadia Nakai & Toss List Their Fav Songs On “Do’s & Don’ts” EP. Nadia Nakai and Toss have opened up about the songs that mean the most to them on their joint EP Do’s & Don’ts, revealing the personal stories that shaped their favourite tracks.
During a recent interview with SA Hip Hop Mag, the two artists were asked to rank their top three songs from the six-track project, which was released on 18 September 2026. Both artists independently placed “Blind,” featuring Nkosazana Daughter, at number one.
For Toss, the song captures the relationship at the centre of the project and reflects the connection he shares with Nadia. He explained that “Blind” “sums up the whole day between her and me,” highlighting the track as a reflection of their shared energy and the relationship portrayed throughout the EP.
Nadia shared a similar view, describing the song as one that “really encompasses the love of a relationship.” She pointed to the lyric about wanting her partner’s last name and their children as one of the moments that makes the song particularly personal.
Toss chose “Chomi,” featuring Sino Msolo and Sizwe Alakine, as his second favourite. He was especially drawn to the closing verse, describing it as Nadia “writing a letter to me.”
The verse carries a protective message, with Nadia addressing the people around Toss and expressing her prayers and belief in him. Her words about being careful of the people he mentions, praying for him and recognising his “heart of gold” give the track a distinctly personal feel.
Nadia’s second choice was “Gets Getsa,” a song she said she loves “so much.” She also admitted that she is surprised more listeners have not spoken about the track as much as she expected. Both artists agreed on their third selection, with “Choose Me” completing their respective top three.
For Toss, the song immediately brings travel to mind. He said he wants to explore the world with Nadia, naming Paris as a destination for its fashion and Thailand for its tropical atmosphere.
Nadia did not expand much on her choice during that part of the conversation, although she revealed that her personal rankings can change depending on how she feels about the songs at different times. She noted that “Toxic” has been growing on her, while she continues to have a strong connection with “Ben’thini,” the project’s hard-hitting opening track.
The conversation gives fans a glimpse into how Nadia and Toss view Do’s & Don’ts beyond its streaming numbers. Created during an intense three-day studio session, the six-track EP explores different sides of relationships, from love and intimacy to vulnerability, expectations and the everyday realities of being together.
With the EP continuing to attract listeners, the artists’ own interpretations give added context to the songs. Their rankings show that Do’s & Don’ts is not simply a collection of collaborations, but a project closely tied to the experiences and emotions they were exploring while making it.
