All Blacks captain Ardie Savea’s new Super Rugby home has finally been made public.
According to the NZ Herald, Savea will be linking up with the Blues on a one-season deal. Savea has been without a club since Moana Pasifika collapsed earlier this year, due to being millions in debt.
The 32-year-old is set to remain in Auckland as he builds towards the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia. Savea has been negotiating with the Blues since early July, with the New Zealand Rugby component of his Super Rugby deal and the timing of the announcement delaying confirmation.

His move to the Blues comes after he returned home early from the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry tour in South Africa with a dislocated shoulder that ended his season.
Once recovered, Savea will add experience to a Blues loose-forward group that includes All Black Anton Segner, Malachi Wrampling, Torian Barnes and Che Clark.
His arrival will also help offset the departures of former All Blacks Dalton Papali’i and Hoskins Sotutu, who both moved to overseas clubs in July.
