Nanette Announces Upcoming Project “N4” With Bold Message To Fans. R&B singer-songwriter Nanette has sparked curiosity about her next musical move after teasing an upcoming project titled “N4,” assuring listeners that she is taking the release seriously.
The artist took to Instagram and announced with a confident message that hinted at her determination to deliver something meaningful with her next body of work. “I keep telling y’all I’m NOT playing this next project. N4 is coming
,” she wrote.
While Nanette has not yet shared further details about the project, her message signals that new music could be on the way. For now, the release date, tracklist, potential collaborations and musical direction remain unconfirmed.
The announcement comes as Nanette continues to establish herself within South Africa’s contemporary R&B scene. The Durban-born singer-songwriter, whose full name is Nanette Sphesihle Nobethu Mbili Jolobe, has built her musical identity around soulful vocals, personal songwriting and a willingness to explore different sounds.
Her discography includes Bad Weather (2022), The Waiting Room (2024) and Painfully Happy (2025), projects that have helped shape her artistic development. Her music has also extended beyond contemporary R&B through collaborations with artists such as Nasty C, Blxckie, Tellaman and Major League DJz.
Nanette’s work has frequently drawn from personal experiences, emotional growth and reflections on life. Her album Painfully Happy, in particular, explored the complicated relationship between professional progress and personal grief, presenting a more vulnerable side of the singer’s journey.
In 2026, she continued that chapter with Painfully Happy (Deluxe), an expanded edition featuring five additional songs. The release included “Baggage,” “Ask For Nun,” “One Life,” “Little Light”, and “Taking Me Places,” the latter bringing together Nigerian songwriter Mbryo and South African producers MashBeatz and Christer.
The deluxe project reflected a shift towards healing, hope and looking ahead, further demonstrating Nanette’s interest in developing her sound while maintaining the emotional honesty that has characterised her music.
Although Nanette’s latest announcement has introduced “N4” as her next project, it remains unclear whether the upcoming release will mark a completely new musical era or explore ideas connected to her previous work.
With no official release date or additional project details announced in the post, the focus remains on what Nanette will reveal next. Whether “N4” brings new collaborations, a different sonic direction or another deeply personal collection of songs, more information will be needed before its full scope becomes clear.
