Ex-Global Backs Nasty C’s Blueprint For Elevating SA Hip Hop. Ex-Global has thrown his weight behind Nasty C, calling the rapper’s current run the exact blueprint South African hip hop needs to climb higher.
“I genuinely believe what Nasty C is doing is exactly what SA hip hop needs to reach the next level,” the commentator posted on Thursday. “From here, artists should continue the culture, link up more, work together more, try different genres, and break through with new sounds.”
The praise came while Nasty C keeps the studio doors wide open. His Speed Run series turns live streams into pressure-cooker sessions where guests have minutes to lock in bars, melodies and chemistry. Recent nights have pulled in Flvme, Tshego, Tellaman, Lucasraps and crews like The North Mob. Fans watch the music form in real time across YouTube and Twitch, and the energy feels less like isolated flexing and more like a shared laboratory.
That spirit runs through the rest of his year. The independent album FREE, released on his Tall Racks label in 2025, collected a third SAMA for Best Hip Hop Album. A joint project with Tellaman, T’s & C’s Apply, followed earlier in 2026. Both records mix sharp lyricism with wider sonic experiments, proving the same artist can stay competitive and still make space for others.
Ex Global has long ranked Nasty C among the scene’s most complete figures. This latest post frames the work as a challenge rather than a victory lap. Keep the culture moving. Collaborate harder. Stretch the sound. The message is clear: the next level will not arrive through solitary dominance. It will arrive when more artists treat the booth like a common table instead of private property.
