All Blacks injury list grows

The All Blacks have suffered a triple injury blow ahead of next month’s Nations Championship campaign in Europe.

Prop Tyrel Lomax, hooker Samisoni Taukei’aho and loose forward Shannon Frizell have all been ruled out of the tour following the second Bledisloe Cup Test against the Wallabies in Sydney.

Frizell faces six weeks on the sidelines after rupturing the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, while Taukei’aho is expected to be out for four to six weeks after tearing a calf muscle.

Lomax has been battling a neck disc injury since Super Rugby and will remain in New Zealand for treatment and recovery.

The trio join wing Leroy Carter, who was ruled out earlier this week after requiring ankle surgery following a hip-drop tackle in the first Bledisloe Cup Test in Auckland.

Captain Ardie Savea (shoulder), Ruben Love (ankle), Luke Jacobson (elbow), Caleb Clarke (shoulder), Billy Proctor (shoulder), Ollie Norris (knee) and Tamaiti Williams (back) are also unavailable.

However, there could be some good news for the All Blacks, with Richie Mo’unga not yet ruled out of the tour. The flyhalf missed both Bledisloe Cup Tests with a calf tear.

The All Blacks will face Scotland (7 November), England (14 November) and Wales (21 November) before the finals weekend at Twickenham (27-29 November).
