Two Capetonians will start for an understrength Ulster side against the Stormers in the Mother City on Saturday.
Juarno Augustus, who earned 21 Stormers caps between 2017 and 2021, starts at No 8 and former SACS pupil Rob Herring at hooker for Ulster, who are without eight Ireland internationals ahead of the Nations Championship.
However, coach Richie Murphy has been boosted by the return of Herring and centre James Hume, who will both make their first appearances of the season after recovering from injuries.
TROKKIE: I’ll need a lot of tickets
Herring starts in the front row alongside Eric O’Sullivan and Keynan Knox. David McCann captains the side from openside flank, with Cormac Izuchukwu shifting to blindside.
Matthew Devine and Jack Murphy form the halfback pairing, Hume partners Ben Carson in midfield, while Ethan McIlroy starts at fullback.
Ulster are 13th on the URC log and still searching for their first win of the season, having drawn twice and lost twice, including a 34-26 defeat to the Bulls at Loftus last week.
ULSTER – 15 Ethan McIlroy, 14 Michael Lowry, 13 James Hume, 12 Ben Carson, 11 Zac Ward, 10 Jack Murphy, 9 Matthew Devine, 8 Juarno Augustus, 7 David McCann (c), 6 Cormac Izuchukwu, 5 Eli Snyman, 4 Ben Donnell, 3 Keynan Knox, 2 Rob Herring, 1 Eric O’Sullivan.
