Bulls scrumhalf Embrose Papier’s immediate future has been decided, but flyhalf Handré Pollard’s remains uncertain.
According to Rapport, the Bulls have secured Papier’s services until June 2028 following months of negotiations, despite interest from English club the Sale Sharks.
The 29-year-old, who had been expected to pursue an overseas move when his previous contract expired in June 2027, has opted to remain in Pretoria.
Papier, who has earned eight Springbok caps, previously had a short stint with Sale in 2019 and 2020, making 11 appearances.
He has been with the Bulls since 2018 and is currently sidelined by an ankle injury that is expected to keep him out for several more weeks.

Meanwhile, the Bulls face a tougher battle to retain Pollard, whose contract expires in June 2027.
The 32-year-old Springbok flyhalf has reportedly attracted significant interest from Japan, with at least one League One club having made him an offer.
Pollard returned to the Bulls from the Leicester Tigers in 2025, having previously played for Montpellier in France and the Osaka Red Hurricanes in Japan.
A source told Rapport that there is optimism Pollard will extend his stay at Loftus Versfeld. However, another source close to the two-time World Cup winner believes he may only make a final decision early next year.
