BABYG!RL ZAE Launches ‘Sanbonani’ Open Verse Challenge Ahead Of Release. BABYG!RL ZAE is gearing up to bring fresh energy to the South African hip-hop scene with her upcoming single, ‘Sanbonani’, and she is giving aspiring rappers an opportunity to become part of its next chapter.
The Emtee Records First Lady recently took to Instagram to announce that the new track is scheduled to drop this Friday, 6 November 2026. However, the announcement came with an exciting opportunity for emerging talent as she launched an open verse challenge, inviting rappers to showcase their lyrical abilities for a chance to appear on the official remix.
Welcoming her audience with the phrase “Sanbonani Emakhaya,” ZAE shared the exciting news alongside an invitation for artists to jump on the challenge.
“The Song Sanbonani will be out this Friday. Here is an Open Verse Challenge – Lets Hear your Raps and Skills & You Might be Featured On The Remix!” she wrote.
Interested participants have been encouraged to record and share their verses on social media using the hashtag #SANIBONANIOPENVERSE. The rapper will then have the opportunity to select standout submissions for a potential remix appearance.
The announcement adds another exciting moment to what has been an active 2026 for ZAE. Earlier this year, she teamed up with her label boss Emtee on the collaborative single ‘Manje’ before joining forces with Sastii for the energetic offering ‘Tlean’.
She also brought her presence to the stage at the 20th anniversary edition of Back to the City Festival, further cementing her growing footprint in South African hip-hop.
With ‘Sanbonani’, ZAE is looking to keep the momentum going while creating opportunities for the next generation of rappers to showcase their abilities. The open verse challenge also gives the release a community-driven element, allowing upcoming artists to potentially share a record with one of the scene’s rising female voices.
Now, all that is left is for aspiring rappers to grab the opportunity, bring their best bars and see if they have what it takes to earn a spot on the remix.
‘Sanbonani’ arrives on all major streaming platforms this Friday, 6 November 2026. Fans and aspiring participants can follow BABYG!RL ZAE on Instagram (@babygrlzae) for updates on the challenge and further announcements.
