International Youth Day is This Month: Meet Asante Africa’s Young Leaders
In much of African culture, elders are held in high esteem, receiving the utmost respect and reverence. However, it is the youth, who make up the majority of the population, that face the brunt of numerous societal challenges. Africa’s population under 35 represents almost a billion people or 22.7 percent of the global population. This young generation is not only looking to their elders for guidance but is actively taking matters into their own hands. They engage in protests, often risking their lives, and create businesses and career paths that may be frowned upon by older generations. Young Africans have a deep love and respect for their identity while also being unafraid to criticize their leaders, knowing that things can be better. Their efforts to push for change within their communities are insurmountable and truly inspiring. Asante Africa Foundation supports these incredible youth, helping them turn their dreams into reality. Our efforts are driven by the heart and determination of these young individuals, proving that with support, nothing is out of reach.
