The All Blacks have been boosted by the decision of their top scrumhalf to commit his future to New Zealand Rugby through until 2029.
Cam Roigard has quickly established himself as one of the All Blacks’ most dangerous attacking threats since making his Test debut in 2023, although injuries have limited him to 17 international appearances to date.

Roigard was already contracted through to 2027, but with a British & Irish Lions tour looming, the dynamic No 9 was eager to lock in his long-term future in New Zealand.
“I’m loving my rugby right now, and the opportunity to represent the All Blacks, the Hurricanes and Counties Manukau here in New Zealand is something I don’t take for granted,” Roigard said.
“It has always been a dream of mine since I was a kid to play Super Rugby and be an All Black, and I want to continue living that dream.”
Roigard has crossed for 12 tries in the black jersey and has taken ownership of the All Blacks’ No 9 role following Aaron Smith’s departure. At Super Rugby level, he is just three matches shy of reaching 50 appearances for the Hurricanes, having made his debut for the Wellington-based franchise in 2021.

New Zealand Rugby General Manager of Professional Rugby and Performance Chris Lendrum praised Roigard’s commitment.
“Cam is an outstanding young man, and already one of the best halfbacks in world rugby. We’re thrilled he’s committed through to 2029 and that he’ll continue to play in New Zealand through the prime of his career,” Lendrum said.
“It’s encouraging to see our top players recognising the challenge and opportunity of the global calendar over the next period and choosing to continue their rugby in our environments.”
