All Blacks sneak past Scottish bravehearts

Damian McKenzie’s try six minutes from time helped preserve New Zealand’s unbeaten record against Scotland.

The All Blacks defeated the brave Scots 25-17 at Murrayfield on Saturday.

Scotland came from 17-0 down at half time to level the match at 17-17 and give themselves hope of a first win over New Zealand in 120 years of matches between the two countries.

But replacement back McKenzie’s try edged New Zealand ahead before his 79th-minute penalty put the result beyond doubt.

The All Blacks have now won 31 of 33 clashes between the two teams, with the Scots’ best results two Murrayfield draws: 0-0 in 1964 and 25-25 in 1983.
