Another concert venue of Burna Boy’s ‘No Sign of Weakness’ US tour 2025 has been cancelled shortly after wishing fans a happy Thanksgiving celebration.
Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has reportedly cancelled the December 1, 2025, stop of his “No Sign of Weakness” U.S. tour at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, marking the second venue to be cancelled on the tour.
The previously scheduled concert at The Armory in Minneapolis (set for November 28, 2025) was already called off earlier this week.
The United Center boasts a concert capacity of up to 23,500 fans, making it one of the largest arenas in the U.S. for live performances. Meanwhile, The Armory, which reopened in recent years as an events venue, holds around 8,400 people for concerts and major events.
The abrupt cancellations come amid swirling backlash around a recent incident during Burna Boy’s U.S. tour. While performing at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the singer stopped his set after he noticed a woman in the front row apparently sleeping. He publicly called out the woman and her partner, demanded they leave the venue, and refused to continue performing until they were escorted out.
The woman, later identified by her name, revealed she had been “mentally, physically, and emotionally drained,” grieving the recent death of her child’s father. She said she was attending the concert to find relief, but fatigue overtook her. She described the public confrontation and removal as humiliating and traumatising.
The episode triggered a heated debate online: some defended Burna Boy, arguing he delivers high-energy shows and expects an engaged crowd. Others expressed negative opinions of him for publicly shaming a paying attendee, many pointing out that exhaustion, grief or personal struggle might have contributed to her falling asleep.
So far, neither Burna Boy’s team nor the concert promoters have provided a detailed public explanation for why the Minneapolis and Chicago venues were cancelled. Given the timing, which followed the backlash, speculation is mounting that the cancellations may be related to the controversy, or to ticket sales and public relations concerns rather than logistical issues.
For many fans who had purchased tickets, the cancellations represent disappointment, frustration, and uncertainty, compounded by the emotional fallout of the sleeping-fan incident, which has left a portion of his audience questioning whether they still want to support the tour.
