Argentina overwhelm Wales

Argentina scored seven tries as Steve Tandy’s first game in charge of Wales ended in a comprehensive loss.

The Pumas, ranked sixth in the world compared to Wales’ 12th, won 52-28, with Santiago Carreras kicking seven conversions and a penalty for a haul of 17 points.

Four of Los Pumas’ tries came in a first half when they led 14-0, were pegged back to 14-14, but turned round in command at 31-14.

Victory gave Argentina their highest score and largest winning margin against Wales, who also suffered a 10th successive home defeat.
