Arne Slot evaluates Liverpool’s 2025 summer spending

The head coach of Liverpool Football Club, Arne Slot, has reflected on the money his club spent during the 2025 summer transfer window.

Liverpool werewas of the most active clubs during the summer transfer window wit, with the arrival of Alexander Isak from Newcastle United beingbeing talk of the town. Isak’s transfer to Anfield has made him the most expensive player in the history of the Premier League which has made him see him been under a lot of pressure.

Slot has defended Liverpool’s spending during the summer claiming he has not spent the full money which is branded in the public because of the injury to Isak.

He said,

I know that we have spent a lot of money in the summer. But it looks like nobody is able to understand that every other Premier League club was adding players to their squad, while we were replacing players in our squad. From the €450M that we spent, I have only been able to use €250M.”

He continued,

“Alexander Isak has never been fit so far. Giovanni Leoni is ruled out for the entire season. Frimpong has only had an impact in 5/6 games. We bought a 2nd goalkeeper for €35M (Mamardashvili) who barely plays. So we haven’t even used €250M of the €450M that we spent, while our rivals spent €200M, €300M, €400M in adding players to their squad, instead of replacing”

Slot and Liverpool fans will hope that their injured players get back to full fitness very soon.
