Ayanda MVP Explains Why Nasty C x KFC Collab Is Important For The Culture. South African hip-hop DJ and YFM radio personality Ayanda MVP has shared her thoughts on the growing trend of artists collaborating with major brands, emphasising the cultural impact beyond just music.

Her comments come in light of the recent partnership between Nasty C and KFC, which launched the limited-edition Nasty C Triple Sauce Burger.
Speaking on LO TV during the launch of Nasty C x KFC burger, Ayanda MVP explained that these collaborations are more than just business deals—they create opportunities for music to reach people in unexpected spaces. “It’s important for the culture because it makes us aware that we can resonate with music over than just in people’s ears,” she said.
She highlighted that music can now intersect with everyday experiences, from restaurants to gyms, giving fans unique ways to engage with their favourite artists. Ayanda cited international examples, noting how artists like Gunna inspire fans to participate in activities such as running a 5km, making the connection between music and lifestyle even stronger.
Ayanda MVP also praised the Nasty C x KFC collaboration for its significance in South African culture. “Nasty C coming through with the collaboration with KFC is amazing because KFC is also a big brand. We grew up with KFC, and it’s still relevant to this day,” she added.
These collaborations, according to Ayanda MVP, do more than promote products—they help elevate South African music on a global scale, showing that local talent can successfully intersect with major international brands while maintaining cultural relevance. With artists like Nasty C leading the way, the landscape of music and branding is evolving, creating innovative spaces where fans can connect with artists beyond traditional listening experiences.
The Nasty C Triple Sauce Burger is now available at select KFC outlets, marking a milestone in both music and cultural marketing in South Africa.
