According to music figure Nota, the tension traces back to the early days when both artists were rising internet sensations from Durban. Lucasraps gained traction first and helped bring others along, including Blxckie. The pair started as homies before any formal management deals, with Lucasraps later introducing Blxckie to the M4 Management team.

“They were in one management team, and Lucas left the management team and left Blxckie there,” Nota explained in a recent discussion. “He went with another management that got him Fashionova deals instead of hits, and he ended up being a Fashionova model instead of making hits. And then Blxckie continued to make it.”

Nota went further, alleging that the real sting came when success shifted. “The backstabbing is that when Blxckie was on, he did not return the favour by helping Lucasraps. Because Lucasraps had fallen out with the M4 Management.”

The narrative painted Lucasraps as the early supporter who lifted Blxckie up, only to feel abandoned once roles were reversed. “Blxckie was not supposed to make it,” Nota added pointedly, framing the story as one of unexpected success and repaid kindness with silence.

Blxckie, however, pushed back hard against the version of events. In a direct response shared online, he dismissed the claims as fabricated.

“Lol, he wasn’t on mntase. I came to Jozi with Leo, and we stayed at 2 places before we went to that house. Peppa brought us to that house,” Blxckie wrote. “We both got Nasty C verses around the same time. Backstab him how when he decided to leave? Nonsense, man, sies. Come to think of it, this nigga made up this whole thing on the spot. Nota the creator.”

The rapper rejected the idea that any betrayal occurred, noting that Lucasraps chose to depart the shared management setup. He also clarified the timeline of their move to Johannesburg and simultaneous opportunities, including features from Nasty C.

The dispute has escalated recently with Blxckie releasing a track titled “Karmaa,” which many interpret as a direct address to Lucasraps. The song has fueled further debate in South African hip hop circles, with fans dissecting bars and weighing in on who carries more truth in the story.
